Plumeria’s Patient Bloom: A Seedling’s Journey

Plumeria’s Patient Bloom: A Seedling’s Journey

by Tex Norwood

In the heart of a seed, beneath the sun’s gaze,
Lies the plumeria’s future, in the soil’s embrace.
A journey not of moments, but of years in wait,
For the seedling to bloom, under destiny’s gate.

Year one unfolds, a sprout breaks through,
Tender green leaves, in morning’s dew.
A sapling stands, reaching for the sky,
Basking in the warmth, days passing by.

In its second year, growth continues with grace,
Leaves spread wider, claiming their space.
Sturdy and strong, the stem rises tall,
Yet no blossoms bloom, none at all.

Patience is the plumeria’s silent song,
As the third year gently comes along.
In this dance of time, under the sun’s endless roam,
The seedling prepares, to reveal its chromatic poem.

Then, in a moment, as if by a spell,
Buds begin to form, where once none dwell.
Slowly, they open, under the sun’s loving beam,
Petals unfurling, like a waking dream.

Pinks, yellows, whites, a spectacular show,
Against the backdrop of life’s ebb and flow.
Each flower, a testament to patience and time,
A symbol of endurance, subtle and sublime.

For two to three years, the plumeria waits,
Through silent seasons and time’s shifting gates.
But in its bloom, a truth is found,
Of beauty’s patience, profound.

In every plumeria bloom, a lesson resides,
Of time’s gentle passage, where strength abides.
A journey from seed, to blossom so fair,
A testament to nature, and the care it bears.
