When was the Plumeria plant named?

The Plumeria plant was named in the late 17th century. Charles Plumier officially named the plant during his explorations in the Caribbean and the Americas. His botanical findings were documented in his book “Nova Plantarum Americanarum Genera” published in 1703, where he introduced the Plumeria genus. Plumier’s contributions significantly expanded the botanical knowledge of the time and laid the foundation for modern plant taxonomy.
